About the framework
The supplier framework has been in place since 2008. In response to feedback, following a recent internal review, the framework has been refreshed and we are confident that it now offers a much wider range of suppliers to choose from.
It is managed by the Communications and Press Office, in partnership with ISS Web Solutions and Central Purchasing, and the suppliers will support our internal experts by providing additional resource and capacity.
This framework is mandatory, which means that all outsourced work including design for print, web design and development and video production must be undertaken by a framework supplier.
The purpose of the framework is to raise the quality, consistency and impact of design and video work produced across the University and to create guardians of the University brand. It will provide a range of services at competitive prices, including:
- design for posters, leaflets, flyers, information packs, course brochures and banners, etc
- alterations and redesign of existing work
- functional or sophisticated web design, development, build and alterations
- promotional videos and talking heads
- high profile campaigns and large-scale branding projects.
How we chose the suppliers
Due to the high value of spend for this type of work across the University, we had to follow an extensive European Union procurement process. This process involved a rigorous evaluation and value for money review of each supplier, during which the suppliers worked hard to demonstrate their creative ability, levels of experience, competency, working practices and customer service approach.
The suppliers were also asked to demonstrate that they are financially secure, adhere to the necessary legislative requirements and have the appropriate processes, resources and infrastructure in place to meet the deadlines and needs of the University.
Timescales
The framework runs from the 2 April 2012 and will be renewed annually, based upon satisfactory performance, up to a maximum of 4 years, which will help us build long-term relationships with our suppliers. We will be asking for regular feedback about the suppliers and their work, so we can continue to improve and enhance the service they offer.
Digital Strategy
This guidance will change as the University’s digital strategy develops and we will be looking at alternative ways to help areas set-up websites. If you have any questions, please contact Hannah Love at h.e.b.love@leeds.ac.uk
