Daniel Preston


Daniel is responsible for the management of the University’s major social media accounts, devising and prioritising their editorial content. This includes providing advice and consultancy to colleagues across the organisation, helping individuals and teams to determine the most effective use of digital channels for their objectives.

He also chairs the Evaluation Working Group and works with colleagues to embed evaluation methodologies, tools and techniques at every stage of the communications journey.

Daniel also provides support to colleagues on how to access and use the University’s web data, via Google Analytics, and runs a regular ‘Introduction to Google Analytics’ training session via OD&PL.


Before joining the University, Daniel held multiple roles in market research and in the financial sector. These included delivering customer-driven outcomes in Mortgages, working closely with the Financial Ombudsman Service as part of PPI investigations and held a key digital change role in Governance, Conduct & Control.
