Dave is part of the Communications Production team, supporting on the design of printed and digital work for student recruitment and communications across the University. He works primarily with the marketing teams to promote the University to prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as showcasing the University’s research offering. Dave also supports wider University communications, producing corporate publications and content for a variety of digital and social channels to support multiplatform campaigns.

Dave works with the University visual identity and is available to offer guidance and support on a variety of brand enquiries. Dave can offer help when working with the external framework design agencies and photographers, including the briefing process, consultation, ideas generation and development, and technical queries.

Dave initially started working on the generation of ideas for advertising campaigns before moving into graphic design. He has predominantly worked in print production, but more recently has gravitated towards video and animation. In a world where video and animation are becoming key, he’s interested in exploring how and where video and animation can be used within campaigns to increase visibility and reach larger audiences. Dave is a mentor for students in the School of Media and Communication, offering help and guidance from his own experience. He also drinks a lot of tea.

Dave studied Creative Advertising and Graphic Design at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University (now Bucks New Uni). Dave worked as a freelance designer, working across multiple areas from print, to websites and apps before moving to the University of Leeds Library. He supported the in-house creation, and consultation of design within the Library before moving to the Communications team in 2017.
